There are a variety of different wildlife species at Buena Vista Ranch. The ranch is so diverse mainly because it covers two different types of vegetation and/or habitats for wildlife. Crooki mule deer, american bison, pronghorn antelope, coyotes, and blue quail are found mainly on the arid/desert area of the ranch. Carmen Mountain White-tail deer, mountain lions, black bear, bobcats, and wild boars are found in the mountainous part of the ranch.

The vegetation in the desert habitat in the area is covered mainly in yuccas, cactus, and mesquite. Hunting in this area involves plenty of glassing, unlike the mountainous area which is covered mainly in Shrub Oak and makes it difficult to spot and stalk the white-tail. Some of the following pictures include both types of habitat including most type of wildlife in Buena Vista Ranch.
