Rancho Buena Vista offers management hunts to increase the chance of harvesting trophy bucks at the ranch. Management hunts consist of either carmen mountain white-tail deer, or desert crooki mule deer. These hunts usually consist of mature bucks, 6-7 point bucks, or 8-10 point bucks with small tines, or forks (on mule deer). Management hunts provide a great opportunity for young ones to go in their first hunt, or for any companion to harvest a buck at an inexpensive rate. At least two bucks are required to be harvested on a management hunt, unless already paying for a trophy hunt.
This could also be a good and inexpensive way to come down and hunt in Mexico! Carmen whitetail hunts can be fun and challenging. Mule deer are easier to be spotted and hunted, and easier to get close enough for a bow hunt. Rancho Buena Vista averages from 5-8 management bucks per year, between both species (carmen mountain whitetail and crooki mule deer)
Best time for this hunt would be starting the season (late November through early December preferably). Mature bucks are usually spotted before the rut or at the beginning at the rut. We want to hunt them as early in the season as possible for breeding purposes.
